Rizal is well known as our national hero. He became our national hero not only because he fought for our country's freedom, but also because of his many qualities. He is a linguist, a doctor, a poet, an excellent student, editor, sculptor, architect, a son, a brother, a lover, and an excellent patriotic leader.
It was the first time I entered the grounds of assumption school. I was impressed with the cleanliness and orderliness of the place. Asumpta theater was really a place to be remembered, because the place depict the elegance and the immortality of he plays being held on it's stage. Watching "Batang Rizal", transported me to another level of learning and feelings. contrary to what I expected, I really enjoyed the play, with it's unusual twist and play of words among it's characters.
Watching "Batang Rizal", made me see Jose Rizal in a totally different view. Far from the serious impression of him as a national hero, I was able to see Jose Rizal from a perspective of a young boy not much different from me. The play surely changed the serious atmosphere of watching a stage play which more often than not are bordering on boring.
From watching this play of "Ang Batang Rizal", I leaned that it does not take great men of great minds to be heroes. To be a hero, one only needs great character and the courage to be true to ones self and principles.
